Publisher instructions ↗Choose your project and tools
Use the intended account and project, restrict tools or choose read-only access where appropriate, then initialize the connection in your client.

Credentials and access
OAuth recommended; scoped personal API key available as a fallback.
Setup notes from publisher documentation
- PostHog confirms https://mcp.posthog.com/mcp as its hosted endpoint.
- OAuth is the recommended setup. For clients without OAuth, create a personal API key using the MCP Server preset and send it through Authorization: Bearer.
- The Registry snapshot only describes the personal-key path. The server routes requests to the account's region and executes tools against the PostHog API; restrict project access and tool permissions as appropriate.

Registry inputs are a dated snapshot. Publisher checks are separate, scoped observations. The downloadable bundle preserves the original draft plus the documentation review; it is not a ready-to-run client configuration.
